Is it possible to put .png images into a pdf output report? I'm in a sticky situation where I have no choice but to bring .png images to a pdf report, and the result is a red-x error on the pdf. This will eventually deliver on 7.6.11 if that provides any relief.

Whoa whoa whoa people! Don't knock each other down just to be the first to post a reply. Everyone can have their say if we're all just a little patient.

No no -- this project I'm working on will eventually deliver on 7.6.11. I don't know whether png support will be available then or not. That's the kind of information I'm looking for.

I don't think it's currenlty supported and only IBI can answer that question. I would open a case. Can see a little bit of complexity due to the nature of the png's

I don't really understand why png, eps, tiff files are not supported in WebFOCUS reports, particularly PDF. It would be nice to embed a high-res logo in a PDF report, not a 72dpi jpeg or gif.

The best High Res logo would be in SVG format

GIF,JPEG,PNG are bitmapped images, stores content of each pixel. This results in poor graph quality when the file is stretched(zoom in the file or view in 200%)
But Scalable Vector Graphics(SVG) uses shapes and paths, its xml based. Graph quality won't be lost at any resolution. Supports interactive effects.

Yes, and too bad we can't embed SVG images in a WebFOCUS report.

Funny you should say that, as Graphs as SVG can be added, so why can't external files ?
