I have a report that can display both annual salaries and hourly rates. The annual salaries should be rounded to the dollar versus to the penny for hourly. The report has 5 other fields derived from the salary/rate that would also have the equivalent rounding requirement.
Is there an easy way to accomplish this without redundantly listing the fields within a dialogue manager -IF structure?

If you mean either annual salaries or hourly rates, then have a parm called &RATE set to either HOURLY or ANNUAL
-SET &FMTCUR=IF &RATE IS 'ANNUAL' THEN 'P8SM' ELSE 'P11.2SM' ; DEFINE FILE myfile NEWDOLLARS/&FMTCUR = DOLLARS ; END TABLE FILE myfile SUM NEWDOLLARS AS ..whatever you need.
i use this technique for handling different currencies, so just a tweak and it can handle different decimal counts as well. This message has been edited. Last edited by: susannah,
