Trying to figure out if it is my slow internet conenction or the way the dev server is setup. Whenever i simply open a saved HTML page, it takes 5-7 minutes to load and mouse icon just spins. Is there a lot of bandwidth needed to just open a file between me and the data server? My dl/ul is about 2meg/768K.This message has been edited. Last edited by: FP Mod Chuck,

It is my experience that opening a html file indeed sometimes takes somewhat longer than other types of files, but not as excessive as 5 minutes. In my setup it has never taken any longer than 30 seconds or so. But then, my AS 82 runs on the same machine as the server that it talks to.
Like Waz says: you may need to talk to techsupport.

Do you have many called fex from the HTML that retrieve data as for dropdown list per example ?
If so, try to change the default AS setup to use sample data instead of live data. Go to AS Options / HTML Page and check "Simulated Data". Do to same for "Document".

For another item to check, make sure you're not waiting for DNS resolution time-outs. Something in the path to your server could be attempting to do a reverse lookup of, for example, your IP address. Time-outs like that can easily add 10s to every network request.
As you're coming from "outside" the company network, you're probably connecting through some VPN and that could mean that your IP address is not registered in your company DNS server (it wouldn't be very meaningful). That's okay if no reverse lookups happen, but whether those happen or not depends on how your admins set things up.
