We are new to the BI side of the universe and are in the process of defining procedures to help support it. One of the things we are trying to do is to provide some structure to our release management process.

One of the steps, of course, is to perform stress/performance testing. We would like to be able to use the built in stress test tool that exists within the webconsole.

Currently when it is run it will produce a text file that details the response times for the threads that were run. We would like to be able to enhance this somewhat and am not sure if the capabilities for our ideas exist.

We would like to be able to automate this process and store the results to create performance baselines, which will allow us to set our thresholds. Has anyone had any experience doing this sort of thing with the stress test tool...

Thanks in advance...

Hi gweller,

When using the stress test tool in the Web Console, you can add additional conditions by clicking on the Advanced tab. Also, you can enhance the report by creating your own Custom Report (located under Performance Reports). You will be able customize the criteria for your report from here. The following document may be of interest:

Stress Testing a Procedure

Hope this helps. Big Grin

Cheers,

Kerry

I have a small issue. I am running these stress tests as directed, but the window pops up blank and the "Stop Playback" button stays active but I get no updates. The /ibi/scale/ folder has the script in it, but to report files.
