Hi, I have a requirement where the user must be able to add a comment to every bar/line in the graph.Once added the next time when the user views that chart he must be able to see the comments added on mouse over. Please provide me some idea about this kind of implementation. Also in excel, when a comment is added for a particular cell, we get an indication in red to know that a comment is added. Is there something similar to this in webfocus. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Kerry,
Priya, I would open up a case with Techsupport and request a New Feature. To the best of my knowledge this is not yet easily available. This type of functionality would theoretically be possible with something like follows:
1) A JavaScript onclick event would be added to elements of the chart so when they're clicked on a text box to insert a comment came up.
2) User submitted the comment and an AJAX call is sent which stores this information in a database for retrieval on next report run.
3) The comment is added to display the tooltip using JavaScript and the onmouseover event.
If you only needed this type of functionality on a report or two I wouldn't think this would be too hard to code, but it would mostly be manual JavaScript coding.
If this was a large scale standard that you needed on every chart the steps needed would probably be time prohibitive unless they were directly integrated into WebFOCUS.
