I need to create a folder similar to an existing folder to where only users with a specific security profile can see the entire folder similar to an existing folder when they log in. Security is only to the folder level. Each folder contains reports (fex via html created in Appp Studio).
I created a new folder in within App Studio in the Content named G1 I created a new folder from within the 8080/ibi_apps portal named G2 I duplicated a new folder from within the 8080/ibi_apps portal from an existing folder named cxxx1 named G3
I actually need only one folder but created it 3 different ways to see which would work.
I currently have a folder named cxxx1. For security, only those with the cxxx2 security profile can see this folder.
I created a new security profile named gxxx2 to access each of the 3 similar folders mentioned above. I added this profile to several users. No matter what I do, I cannot see any one of the 3 above mentioned folders with the user login. Even with the Admin login, I cannot see the above mentioned 3 folders. I compared the security from the folder named cxxx1 and made sure each of the G folders above are similar.
I added security similar to the cxxx2 profile to the above 3 folders but still I cannot see the folders.
What am I missing?
Thank you,This message has been edited. Last edited by: Geri,
Sorry for not responding to this earlier I just scrolled down and saw that there were 0 replies. It sounds like you have not added security rules to the folders allowing those security profiles access to them. When you add a folder there are no security rules automatically created unless it is under an existing folder and then it will inherit the rules of the parent folder.
Thank you for using Focal Point!

Thank you for the reply. I agree with you on security rules except that I added the rules. I compared all rules against one that works and as a test, added those rules to one that does not work.
