I have a user that only uses Dev Studio every 5 or 6 months and whe he tries to get on after this span of time he gets prompted by the devserver for his credentials (and of course his password has changed since then). He tries to put his new password in but it keeps prompting him. It even does this when we try to access the properties of the environment. What we eventually end up doing is deleting his environment and redoing it and that fixes it.
Anybody know whats going on there and is there a way to avoid it.

We, off and on, have issues with that. What I did was document a flow for the users for when their passwords changed which is every 3 months.
I first make them logon to the reporting server console, http://webserver:8121, and make sure that they can log in with the new password. Sometimes it takes 2-3 tries with a variety of error messages. The new password should be used in all cases. Developer Studio should not be running during this activity. We have to do this because on our AIX platform, several days or weeks after the password change, the server forgets (we think something gets cached) and the new pw doesn't work any more.
Anyway, after the user is in, he can close the console. Open DS and immediately go to Show Environments/your_env/Properties. On the Data Servers button, highlight the server, change the password, and REMEMBER to hit the SET button. This may be what you are not doing. If you don't his SET, it reverts back to your old password. I don't know if you have VNC or another way to watch the user, but I find it valuable to watch them as what they tell you sometimes isn't what they are actually doing.
At our site we ask the users that use developer studio infrequently to not store their user id and password in the environment. When they try to access they are then prompted for their id and password and can put in whatever the current one is. This works for us and helps avoid the end user locking up his id.
