I've tried to find the answer for myself, but have so far been unable.
I have been asked to globally apply SET commands (i.e. SET ASNAMES=ON, SET EMPTYREPORT=ON, etc). The intention would be that by default, procedures would have these commands set, but be overridable on an individual basis by simply putting SET ASNAMES=OFF (for example) in the fex. Furthermore, this should be able to be applied to a single config file, setting, etc and cascade downward to all domains (without editing each procedure to add an include, for example).
I have heard this described as 'setting a global variable' but I'm not exactly sure that's the right term.
Any ideas? THANKS!

You can set these parameters globally by putting them in the server profile, edasprof.prf. You can edit this file from the server console, usually http://servername:8121.
You will find this file under the Workspace pulldown, Configuration/Configuration Files/Server Profiles/Server Profile. You must be an admin to do this.
Short of that, you can edit the file by hand. It is located here: /.../ibi/srv76/wfs/etc
Note that slash direction is dependent upon your operating system.
Thanks Ginny, I think this is just what I'm looking for.
In that file I see "SET SMARTMODE = ON". My assumption is that my additions follow the same (normal) syntax (i.e. SET ASNAMES=ON)? Also, does it matter where I put my additions top/bottom?
Awaiting access to development server to test. Oddly, I can make the change in Prod, but not Dev. They must not trust me.
