Yes you have to change the security settings in your browser.

In IE got to tools, Internet options, Security and click the custom level button.

You can change the settings there.

..but I bet that there is possibility to generate javascript message, that informs user, how to change security settings.

I guess gmail.com notices with the popup message about IE popup blocking.

Maybe someone knows which javascript "object/property" should be used in this case?
