Hi,

I have a report that shows the data and then calculates the total of the column. I have used ON COLUMN_NAME SUBTOTAL.

However, my requirement is to calculate the sum of values of those rows for which a flag is set to Y.

For Example, if my data is something like this:

FLAG VALUE
---- -----
Y 10
Y 20
N 30
Y 40

Then the report should come up like this:

VALUE
-----
10
20
30
40
--
70 -> This is the subtotal - Note that 30 was discarded becasue the flag is N.
--

Is there any way to do this? A working code snippet would be wonderful.

Thanks,
Ved

ON COLUMN_NAME SUBTOTAL won't work for this becuase you only want to subtotal SOME of the rows. What you'll want to do instead is define a field

SUBTOTAL_Y/D15=IF FLAG EQ 'Y' THEN VALUE ELSE 0;

Then use
ON COLUMN_NAME SUBFOOT
" "

you can use spot markers/stylesheet, etc to get the placement correct under the VALUE column.

(or just print/sum the SUBTOTAL_Y column instead of the VALUE column and SUBTOTAL works fine.)

Regards,

Darin
