[SOLVED] Need Help With Dropdown box on HTML Page

I am a beginner who has had no training classes so please bear with me if I get terminology wrong or ask dumb questions.

I need to change a drop down on a HTML page in Composer. The client wants the drop down list to sort differently than the stored value or the displayed value.

My first approach was to replace the data source with a dynamic fex that sorts the data as required. But when I switch from a "master file" data source to a dynamic procedure I am losing the option to have both a value field and a display field.

I also tried to create a new synonym with the desired sort order as a virtual field. But I can't see where I can specify the sort order to use the new field.

Any advice appreciated.

If you populate the boxes by means of fexes, you should take care thaat you return two field, one for the display and one for the value. I'm not entirely sure if the first field is the display or if the second field is the display, but you'll find that out in due course.

does not ring any bells in my head. What exactly did you try to do?

Don't worry about option 2. It probably makes no sense. I am struggling with the terminology and learning one small piece of the product at a time.
