Hello Gurus,
I have seen a demo recently using an HTML page built by AppStudio 8.1045 where a user is able to type in few characters and a text box works like a drop-down list to pick a row almost like an autosuggest. Has anyone tried to make it work? It seemed pretty simple but I coudnt get it work... Here's what I have with car file. A simple HTML page with a text box get values from GetCountries.fex shown as below but, nothing popus up.
  
TABLE FILE CAR

BY  CAR.ORIGIN.COUNTRY
WHERE CAR.ORIGIN.COUNTRY CONTAINS '&COUNTRY';
ON TABLE SET PAGE-NUM NOLEAD
ON TABLE SET ASNAMES ON
ON TABLE NOTOTAL
ON TABLE HOLD FORMAT XML

END

Does your fex has the "Prompt for Parameters" checked (on) ?

Are you running from "Content" ?

If you had a table of values such as country you could just build a drop down menu for the user to choose. Make a small permanent hold file that stores nothing but values you want.

You could also use jquery UI's auto suggest widget but this requires custom coding.

Could use jquerys ajax function too.

Just some thoughts...

Its working now, it was easy. If you have app studio try it out. Create a new edit box control on html page and make it dynamic by selecting car file and pick any field like country. Run the html and start typing and you'll see the countries appear in the list.
