[SOLVED] Creating synonym from Oracle SP
Hi,

I want to create a synonym in webfocus from oracle procedure which has OUT parameters (3 params).

In step1 for "Restrict object type to" I selected "Stored Procedure". After that when i click Next, it doesn't list that oracle procedure.

With same connection setting, i can see and execute the SP in SQL plus.

I just have execute privilege on that procedure.
If any of you faced similar issue, please help me out.

I create synonym many times in my localhost for oracle procedure but in prod it is not working.

Env Details - WF 7.1.1 ; UNIX; Oracle 9i

Regards
Nitu

first possibility,

You say Oracle 9i.

Are WebFOCUS and Oracle on the same box and if not what version of Oracle client do you use for WebFOCUS to connect to Oracle?

This is a known problem if you are using an Oracle 10 client to connect to a 9i system.

Possible solution is upgrade WebFOCUS or downgrade to Oracle 9i client.

Second possibility,

The stored procedure is using methods not supported by the version of the WebFOCUS adapter that you are using.
If you can see other stored procedures but not the specific one you want then that is a distinct possibility.

Check the documentation requirements/rules for SPs and look at the SP to make sure that it complies with what
your version of the adapter is capable of. (use the online adapter help from the WebFOCUS server console not
a downloaded PDF to make sure you have the version of the adapter documentation that matches your server).

possible solutions are upgrade WebFOCUS to a version with more SP functionallity or modify the SP so that it complies
with your version of the adapters capabilites.

Can you EX the stored procedure in WebFOCUS via passthru? may be a work around.
