I have a very wide report that I'm sending to PDF output almost 2 complete pages in landscape mode. The report has 2 by fields that are being displayed since the report spills onto 2 pages for output. The by fields are acting like Frozen Columns in Excel and display as the first 2 colums on all pages of the report.

Now my question is how can this be controlled. I have another report that only spills over abut one third of the second page and it does not do this.

Not sure what you are looking for, but the BYPANEL setting can be used to control the repeat of BY fields on report panels.
