I would like to know if anyone can recommend free database that works well with WebFOCUS and ReportCaster (latest and geatest of copurse)? I want to be able to include jpg. files in the database. I do not have SQL databases on my laptop.

Francis MarianiYou may wish to consider Derby, as based on this advisory from Information Builders:
This advisory provides advance notice that in WebFOCUS Release 7.7,
ReportCaster will require a relational database. The WebFOCUS Client Release
7.7 will include, and optionally install and configure, the Derby open
source relational database. Since this free database is now included as part
of the package, the FOCUS database (which did not support Library) will no
longer be supported as a ReportCaster repository starting with release 7.7.
Customers that have existing reports or want to develop WebFOCUS reports to
query the ReportCaster repository tables will be able to do so by
configuring a relational database adapter on the WebFOCUS Reporting Server
and creating synonyms, master file descriptions, for the ReportCaster
Repository tables. However, existing reports may require modifications due
to changes in the ReportCaster Repository table structure in Release 7.7.
All changes to the ReportCaster repository tables will be detailed with the
migration steps in the documentation accompanying WebFOCUS Release 7.7.
WebFOCUS Release 7.7 is tentatively scheduled for availability Q4 2009. For
information on release availability, see the
Release and Functional Stabilization Schedule.
