Hi all,

I've made this report:

SUM
AMOUNT
BAND
BY COMPANYNAME
BY DESCR
ACROSS YEAR

This results in AMOUNT and BAND per YEAR.

I would like to get AMOUNT per year, and right next to that BAND per year. So I don't want WF to combine these fields. Does anybody have a tip?

If I get you correctly, I think McGyver is the way forward, as an example:
FILEDEF MCMAS DISK MCGYVER.MAS
FILEDEF MCGYVER DISK MCGYVER.DAT
-RUN
-WRITE MCMAS FILE=NAMETAB,SUFFIX=FIX
-WRITE MCMAS SEGNAME=SEG1
-WRITE MCMAS FIELD=BLANK,,A1,A1,$
-WRITE MCMAS SEGNAME=SEG2,OCCURS=VARIABLE
-WRITE MCMAS FIELD=INSTANCE,,I2,A2,$

-WRITE MCGYVER  0102

JOIN BLANK WITH BODYTYPE IN CAR TO BLANK IN MCGYVER
-*
DEFINE FILE CAR
BLANK/A1 WITH BODYTYPE = ' ';
NEWFIELD/D7 = IF INSTANCE EQ 1 THEN RCOST ELSE DCOST;
END
TABLE FILE CAR
SUM NEWFIELD
BY COUNTRY
BY CAR
ACROSS INSTANCE NOPRINT
ACROSS SEATS
END

The same issue is brought up some days ago.

I solved it without the mcGyver.
DEFINE FILE whatever
AMOUNT2=BAND;
ACC2=1;
END
TABLE FILE whatever
SUM AMOUNT2
BY COMPANYNAME
BY DESCR
BY YEAR
BY ACC2
ON TABLE HOLD AS HOLD1
END
DEFINE FILE whatever
AMOUNT2=AMOUNT;
ACC2=2;
END
TABLE FILE whatever
SUM AMOUNT
BY COMPANYNAME
BY DESCR
BY YEAR
BY ACC2
ON TABLE HOLD AS HOLD2
END
TABLE FILE HOLD1
SUM AMOUNT
BY COMPANYNAME
BY DESCR
BY YEAR
BY ACC2
ON TABLE HOLD AS HOLDTOT
MORE
FILE HOLD2
END
TABLE FILE HOLDTOT
SUM AMOUNT
BY COMPANYNAME
BY DESCR
ACROSS ACCR2 NOPRINT
ACROSS YEAR
END

you have to decode the accr2 to something like "amount" and "Band"

I used the method sugested by Frankdurtch. This works good, for this it is important that formats of the fiels are equal (for the MORE) function.

So I formated everything to ALPHA and this works!

Thanks for the suggestions!
