I have a VB6 application and I currently use an API call to call Crystal Reports, Has anyone used VB6 to call Webfocus, and if so what syntax was used in this call? Or if there is anyone out there with suggestions on how to call Webfocus using a VB6 application that would be helpful as well

Thanks in Advance

I don't know of a COM based component for Webfocus, you may want to check with IBI for an answer to that. I've only heard of the reportcaster API, which I gather was written in java...so you'd have to write a wrapper for it.

You could use a vb6 application to output plain text to a .fex file... I guess. But, then you're just using two compilers to create a dynamic report, why not just use webfocus to create the report within it's own environment. Webfocus has it's own scripting language called Dialogue Manager, and it's very easy to learn...

Couldn't you just use vb6 to invoke ie with the necessary arguments for wf contained in the URL?
