When I add trailing spaces to the variable length record(RECFM V LRECL 1000), it always truncates trailing spaces on a final output which is a text file but I want to keep trailing spaces...how to do it?

Sample code, please? You can use the CAR table (or any other IBI-provided file) to illustrate how exactly you are creating your file.

That's what the "V" is for (Variable length)... You can change it from a A100V to A1000 and see if you like those results. Or, pass on some same code for us to see.
