I am trying to export some data in csv file with PCHOLD FORMAT COMT. Data contains multilingual characters, like chinese. When I open this file in MS Excel, I see multi-lingual characters replaced with some other characters. When I open same file in Notepad++, I am able to see multi-lingual characters. File encoding is ascii(atleast Notepad++ showing that). Upon changing encoding of file to utf-8(again in Notepad++), file is getting displayed properly in MS Excel.
Is there any way we can configure WebFocus to generate csv file with utf encoding? Tried by changing "mime.wfs" but no luck. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Kerry,

If you change the codepage of your WF server to a UTF codepage, then all output file will default to that codepage. If you do this, then you will have to add the codepage attribute to all .MAS files that are for flat files. For example, you would have to add CODEPAGE=437 to the CAR.MAS.
Keep in mind that the BOM will not be written to the output file, so this could cause some problems with edit tools as they typically look for it when opening.
One last thing: If you have to do this a lot, get data migrator, as it allows you to define the codepage for the output file of a data flow.
