I have create a BI Portal mock-up. I have copied another portal template we have out there that has the standard color, theme, banner riboon, and etc for standardizing the portal I have created.
It seems that the one that I have copied will not let me add pages to it. There may be a setting that is enabled that won't let pages be added or something. Please let me know if anyone has any ideas. This message has been edited. Last edited by: FP Mod Chuck,

How did you copy this template?

Is the New Page turned off ?
There should be a Page option under Insert in the menu.
Otherwise, click on the navigation bar, and check to see if Hide New Page is checked.

Well, the Page option is there under the Insert in the menu. However, when I add a new page it basically just overlays my current page there instead of adding a new tab for it and making is an additional page to the layout.

There should be a new tab icon at the end of all the current tabs. Do you see that? I think there is a security setting to turn that off but I can't seem to find it right now.

That's the thing...that's not there. So maybe that security setting is enabled that has it turned off. Is that security setting within the Portal properties or within WebFOCUS Security Center?

I thought it was in the security center. I will look again. You may want to open a case.

The only privilege I am seeing that may be related is Save Portal Customizations under Basic Reporting. I am assuming you are an administrator so that privilege should be enabled. Does it work on the system you created the export from?

No, it does not work on the one that I exported it from either.

Since I can't find the security setting I suggest opening a case. They should be able to get to the bottom of this quickly.

Chuck Wolff - I did open a case. I'm not seeing anything that sticks out in the security center settings now either.

Waz - I just looked at the Navigation option again in more detail, and I see what it was doing now as you refer to. It allows you to make the Page tabs visible on the top, left, or bottom, or you can turn it off. It was turned off....hidden as a result. Thanks for that update.
One more issue....are you familiar with the Accordion option under the Insert menu? I would possibly like to layout the reports in an accordion-like style. So when selecting the Accordion option, it gives you these options to insert in the panel:
-WebFOCUS Resource -Picture -Resource Tree -Portal Tree -Text
Do you know how to make it so that the reports I am using for the portal can be laid out in an accordion-like fashion on the portal?

Glad you found the place to turn the tabs on. Thanks Waz! The accordion panel in the portal is only to allow multiple reports to be displayed in a single area that tab up and down rather than left and right. If you want the actual report to display as accordion style that is an output option when creating the report.
Hope that helps

Chuck W - Thanks for that update. I can use the SET EXPANDBYROW=ON command to get that. Is that what you're referring to?

Hi AMC
Here is the code that will do what you want.
TABLE FILE CAR SUM CAR.BODY.DEALER_COST BY CAR.ORIGIN.COUNTRY BY CAR.COMP.CAR BY CAR.CARREC.MODEL ON TABLE SET PAGE-NUM NOLEAD ON TABLE SET ASNAMES ON ON TABLE SET EXPANDABLE ON ON TABLE NOTOTAL ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT HTML ON TABLE SET HTMLEMBEDIMG ON ON TABLE SET HTMLCSS ON ON TABLE SET STYLE * INCLUDE = IBFS:/EDA/EDASERVE/_EDAHOME/ETC/endeflt.sty, $ ENDSTYLE END
The syntax is different than what you provided.

Chuck W - Thanks for that code. I ran it and it gives me the accordion expandable option. However, it is not aggregating the totals at the higher lever BY sort fields. It only gives the sub-totals at the Model BY level. It seems not to be invoking the SUBTOTALS ABOVE command. Any thoughts on this?

Chuck W - Here's the variation of it that gives the sub-totaling at each BY sort field.
TABLE FILE CAR SUM CAR.BODY.DEALER_COST BY CAR.ORIGIN.COUNTRY BY CAR.COMP.CAR BY CAR.CARREC.MODEL ON TABLE SET PAGE-NUM NOLEAD ON TABLE SET ASNAMES ON -*ON TABLE SET EXPANDABLE ON ON TABLE SET EXPANDBYROW ON ON TABLE SET EXPANDBYROW ON ON TABLE NOTOTAL ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT HTML ON TABLE SET HTMLEMBEDIMG ON ON TABLE SET HTMLCSS ON ON TABLE SET STYLE * INCLUDE = IBFS:/EDA/EDASERVE/_EDAHOME/ETC/endeflt.sty, $ ENDSTYLE END
