Does anyone have a macro that they could share with us that allows you to run the focexec you are editing in one of the commonly used editors like Textpad or Notepad++?

hammo1j,

In Notepad ++ it is very easy to achieve what you want.

On windowse, there is a file within your "profile" folder - [drive]:/Documents and Settings/[userid]/Application Data/Notepad ++ - called shortcuts.xml. This is where the options shown within "Run" are configured. Just add another one as befits your requirements -
        <Command name="WebFOCUS Dev" Ctrl="yes" Alt="yes" Shift="yes">http://[your server]/ibi_apps/WFServlet?IBIF_ex=$(FILE_NAME)</Command>

Note that is this example your fex would have to exist within your standard APP PATH. Or you would have to include the IBIAPP_app variable. Unfortunately there is not a Notepad ++ enviroment variable that gives you the last folder name Frowner
