Hello all,

I was wondering if there was a way to nominate a value within a list box to contain multiple values of a field.

For example:
WHERE ( STATUS EQ &STATUS.(OR({Open,Opened},{Closed,Resolved})).Please select type. );
Let's say there are three options that can be viewed: Opened, In Progress, and Resolved.

I am trying to find a way to give the 'Open' option both values for Opened and In Progress so that unresolved data won't be displayed but I'm not sure how to do that.

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated!

There isn't really a way to pass multiple values in a single value the way you're thinking. Here are a few suggestions:
1. You could create the listbox as you show and then parse out the value using DM commands into separate parameters.
2. You could pass the values and then use the IN operator which would create WHERE STATUS IN (Closed,Resolved).
3. You could display the values you show but pass some other parameter value like 1,2,3. Then use DM to create the WHERE statement based on that value - like
-SET &WHERESTATUS=IF &STATUS EQ 1 THEN 'WHERE STATUS EQ |''''|'Closed'|''''| 'OR '|''''|'Resolved' ELSE IF STATUS EQ 2 THEN 'WHERE STATUS EQ |''''|'Open'|''''| 'OR '|''''|'Opened';

Basically, is there any way to concatenate one option of a list box into two seperate values? I have, let's say, A, B, and C and I want two option, 1 and 2. Is there no way to allow 2 to display C and 1 to display A and B?

I also tried to define a variable to contain only A and B, then tried to implement it in hopes that it would work.

Thanks again for your help.

Thanks again for your help, I found a way around it. I essentially created another field that contained a 1 or a 2. Then I assigned the A and B values to 1 and C value to 2 using IF ELSE. That allowed me to deal with assigning the 'Open' and 'Closed' options on the list box with two values instead of three. Again I appreciate your advice!
