Hi to all. Usually I create pdf file in compound mode and loop mode: each file for a value of "by field" (command -REPEAT ....). I work in self-service mode. I know that the new COMPOUND LAYOUT command works in on-line mode (PCHOLD). Anyone can tell me if I can use that in self service mode or I have to cntinue in old way ? Thanks in advance Paolo ------------------------- WF 768 on AIX 5.3 test WF 715 on AIX 5.3 productionThis message has been edited. Last edited by: Kerry,
I'm not quite sure what your question refers to. The compound layout tool has been available since 7.1.X and works for self-service or MRE. I don't really know what "Loop mode" is or "on-line mode". I know what "self-service" is but I don't know if that's what you mean by "self-service mode." WF by default uses PCHOLD -(ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT PDF) or the alternate (ON TABLE SET ONLINE-FMT PDF) and that hasn't changed. If you are trying to create individual physical files, you can use coordinated compound documents and ReportCaster to burst them or loop through and create a single compound doc for each possible burst value.
I'm guessing what you are needing is the coordinated compound report which is available by turning on the coordinate option in the layout tool (or set MERGE=ON in the COMPOUND REPORT section of the code.) Either way, it works for self-service reports.

Darin
