We are using WF 7.7.03 version and we Managed Reporting set up to control user groups and roles. I have created a new Group on Managed Reporting which contains a new Domain. I am trying to rename the Group, but I can't find a way to do it through Managed Reporting Administration.
I see there is an option to create a new group, edit properties, clone a group and delete a group.
I tried to click edit properties for the group I want to rename, but it does not let me change the name - lets me to other things, but not change the group's name.
Is there a way I can rename the group? Please help! I need this asap.
Appreciate all your help in advance. Thanks! This message has been edited. Last edited by: FP Mod Chuck,
You should be able to do it by editing the mrrepos.htm and user.htm file located in basedir folder but you first need to stop the WF services and be 100% sure of what you're doing. Make backup first of the original files.
But it's not an easy way. I suggest that you delete and recreate your Domain and Group. That way you'll be sure that you won't corrupt anything.

I am nervous about deleting the Group or Domain because the group already has users assigned to it.. If I delete it, won't we lose all the user list that are assigned to the group?
The only way is to edit the user.htm file located in the basedir directory with something like notepad++ or textpad and search and replace the group name. If you make a backup of that file first then it should be pretty safe. You will have to make sure tomcat is stopped while doing this and clear the tomcat cache for it to take effect.
Thank you for using Focal Point!
