The problem manifests itself where you wait forever for the output to return.

On the server the agent will show with constant statistics but still shows in use.

The Agent in an Infinite Loop Scenario is a special case of this.

If you check on Task Manager the tscom agent will be showing 0 CPU usage although it will still have a TCP/IP session established with the client.

Remember with amperautoprompt the hang may occur in 2 phases.

1. Where the paramter screen is build from XML generated on the server

2. Where the query is actually executing.

A trailing comma in the TITLE= attribute in the master will cause the parser to hang the agent.

eg Sick,

do table file this field and HOLD or ON TABLE SET TITLE OFF then you are fine other the agent never returns!


FIELD=TRS_DAY_SICK_PAID_HOURS, FORMAT=P12.2, MISSING=ON, TITLE='Daily,Total,Hours,Paid,Off,Sick,', DESCRIPTION='Daily Total Hours recorded for Paid Sickness.', $

A dot following an amper variable in a -TYPE causes a hang in the amper autoprompt stage
