I'm curious if there is any documentation, or if anyone is familiar with, how CSS is implemented with regard to Portals.
There is an abundance of information available with regard to using .CSS in WebFOCUS reports, but it appears with the relatively new nature of the portals the documentation hasn't fully covered these items yet.
Is there a central location that I can find the CSS the portals use? I'm relatively new to web-development, so I've been plodding through Chrome's dev tools trying to decipher everything the portal spits out. Suffice it to say that there's a lot, and trying to figure out where all of the different portal report formatting is coming from.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, or point me in the right direction if there is documentation I missed. This message has been edited. Last edited by: A Fisher,

I can't tell you the location of the style-sheets as I haven't dug down that deep yet.
One of my colleagues made a styling change in a css file and it worked, but it also affected the 'Portal Design Mode' page - I can't understand why the 'Portal Design Mode' is built this way.
Our organization uses Calibri as the default font. We hadn't found a way to make it available in the 'Portal Design Mode' Style Font drop-down list until I.B. Tech Support suggested adding the following style to the CSS BODY element: font: 11px Calibri; This makes Calibri available in the Style Font drop-down list as "Calibri, Tahoma, Verdana, Aria, Sans-Serif".

You can download the App Branding Kit. The documentation that comes with it points to this location for the CSS files: :\ibi\WebFOCUS80\webapps\webfocus\bindows\themes\.
I used the App Branding kit to get started. From there I had to take the files and do a lot of manual changes as the App Branding Kit doesn't necessarily put the colors in the most appealing places. Also, page 395 of the App Studio Reference Guide has a CSS Class Mapping List section, listing all the CSS classes used for each of the different types of objects used in the Composer. This along with Chrome's Element Inspector have helped me out a lot.
I had to do a bit of a combination of using the Chrome Dev tools (heavy emphasis on element inspector) and adding a few of my own classes.
I, unfortunately, had to use the !important tag in a couple of places I couldn't track down where to change it legitimately at, but that's been a definite minority of the time.
I did notice that there was a lot of redundancy in the CSS files that I eliminated. This may cause me problems down the road by messing with the default files, but I just kept copies of the old stuff and am fairly confident I can fix the issue if something breaks CSS wise.
Thanks again for the suggestions, here's hoping that they continue to develop the App Branding kit so that it's more robust and makes all of the CSS a lot more efficient!
(PS - Go Royals!)
