HI. Please help me to find a function what would remove a blank data in a field(assuming that data looks like this ' 10.70') I need to dissplay only 10.70. I'm creating a WF page where use following logic: TABLE FILE WFAIMS PRINT Fuel_Charge ON TABLE SAVE AS JAPAN FORMAT ALPHA END -* -RUN -READ JAPAN &FC.A15.
table's structure has following format FUEL_CHG P14.2
On HTML page I'm getting only one digit of the value '1' and I need to display 10.70. Looks like the data in a table stored as | 10.70|
Please advise !This message has been edited. Last edited by: Kerry,

The SAVE command tells you the format of the file and the individual fields.
e.g.
TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT
COUNTRY CAR MODEL SALES
ON TABLE SAVE AS H001
END
Produces this:
0 NUMBER OF RECORDS IN TABLE= 18 LINES= 18
ALPHANUMERIC RECORD NAMED H001
FIELDNAME ALIAS FORMAT LENGTH
COUNTRY COUNTRY A10 10
CAR CARS A16 16
MODEL MODEL A24 24
SALES UNITS I6 6
TOTAL

Give me code, or give me retirement. In FOCUS since 1991

check out FTOA or PTOA your data element is stored as packed decimal so the position of the decimal point is an artefact of the display, not contained in the field content itself. FTOA is 'floating point to alpha' PTOA is 'packed to alpha'
