I have seen numerous posts recommending changing the type of text fields to alpha to better handle reporting. I have a text field in a footer (so that it can span multiple columns) and it may be larger than my page size. I think that alpha fields are limited to 256 bytes anyway, but is there a way I can wrap the alpha field in the footer so that at least all 256 bytes show?
You cannot apply the StyleSheet attribute WRAP to a text field, since a text field is separated into multiple lines by the character count specified in the FORMAT attribute in the Master File.
Susannah, I don't think your solution will work. I must create this report in PDF, and your code looks like HTML tags, right? Pietro, The wrapping of the text field works fine, but using a text field makes Printplus not available. Without Printplus my subfoots are interspersed with my subtotals. I tried switching to an alpha field (although it has to truncate and is not really what I need) but I can't seem to wrap. I get an error when I try to wrap the subfoot. I appreciate both of your replies....
