I was wondering if anyone has installed wf762 client on a Linux environment and if you're able to install it using any linux user id. I'm able to install the client component as root but not as any other id.
OS: Linux on zseries Product: WF 762 Web Server: Apache Web Server Application Server: Tomcat
I have completed a setup exactly as you described (Linux on zSeries (s390x) with WF 7.6.2, Apache and Tomcat). Yes I was able to use any linux user id for the WF software.
What kind of errors are you receiving? How far into the installation are you receiving those errors?
I'm running the kernel 2.6.9-55.EL (RHAT) and the issue is the version of tar. The linux id does not have permission to do tar with the option xof. Option xvf is fine. IBI is researching this issue.
