a text has to be in Upper case for alpha numeric format
IT's sounds easy, but I need to know ascii code or something simple to have UPPER case data ONLY in a field when a user enters the data in lower case (alpha- numeric).
What type of code I need to add in my HTM script?

Thanks

There are many ways to take care of this - here's one:

In your form, for the text field that must be upper case, you could add an onMouseOut event handler:

<input type="text" name="test" onMouseOut="this.value=this.value.toUpperCase();">

By the way, as per this posting, Friendly reminder: Please update your signatures, would you please update your signature?

Thanks,

If your concern is that the field you are selecting on is in uppercase, you might want to consider handling it in your report selection processing, There is an UPCASE function you can use in conjunction with dialog manager, which the DM experst may have an example at their fingertips.

Lera,

Your signature does not appear to be updated. We still don't know what version of WebFOCUS you are running on what platforms against which databases.

This info is very helpful when trying to diagnose problems.

You can also use the same code with many different JavaScript hook points... onBlur, onKeyPress, onKeyDown, onSubmit, etc. Depending if you want to rely on mouse movements, keyboard events, focus changes, etc.
