Log into the web console and create an adapter?

In your browser, navigate to your connection address with a ':9999' where 9999 is the port number you installed WF on. I assume since you said it's on your laptop, your address will be like http://localhost:9999/webconsole.

Go to the Adapters tab find the type of connection you're using and configure it

WF Reporting Servers can talk to other WF Reporting Servers. Typically, Mainframe FOCUS is driven by a batch program or a 3270 terminal session. Your windows reporting server may be able to talk to the same DBMSs as your mainframe focus. But if you want windows server to be able to execute focexecs on the mainframe, you need a WF Reporting server on the mainframe.
