What kind of graph / axis would I need for the below.
3 columns col1 = date (daily) col2 = state (US State for example) col3 = mouse clicks (example)
so my graph i want to show a "Trend" over time. My master file currently has 30 days of data in it, formatted as the above col1/2/3. I can get X/Y working, but i cant "trend" the data. Ideally, i would want the date on the X axis, the number of clicks on the Y, but then i lose the State data.. I think what im asking is simple, i am just not putting the right data on the right axis'.

Hi BSBAL18
What chart type are you using. Typically a Line chart is used for trending..
If you use a Line chart your Date goes in the X axis, state goes in the Legend and Mouse clicks goes in the measure. This message has been edited. Last edited by: FP Mod Chuck,

Yes i have chosen a Line Graph. I do not have "legend" or "measure" from what i can see. I have CHART which has MATRIX/AXIS/MARKER children, Matrix has rows/columns under it and Axis has Vertical and Horizontal under it. When i created this, i went to new/chart and i clicked LINE on the bar across the top.

Hi BSBAL18
Try Date in Horizontal, Mouse clicks in vertical and State in Color
