I was wondering if there is a way to change the OLAP Dimension fieldname to be more meaningful without touching the master file description? Kinda like using AS in a PRINT statement. Example
OLAP DIMENSIONS
TIMEFRAME: YR, QTR, PRD, MTH, WK;
END
Would be nice to replace YR with Year, QTR with Quarter and so on... in the OLAP Pane.
Was thinking of running a TABLE FILE and changing the names with AS, but I'm thinking this would cause me to have to go through the data twice... so, there's must be another way, I hope.
Tony, I noticed though, that the pane that shows the filter criteria (I have it showing on top and tabbed nice and neat) still uses the actual fieldnames and not the 'AS' names. When you click OLAP (to add/delete fields or pivot the table, etc.), the dimensions are showing with the 'AS' names. So, they're not matching and I can see how this would cause the users some confusion.
