[SOLVED] HELPMESSAGE attribute in master file

What does the helpmessage defined in a master file actually DO? Where is it visible?

What I would like to do is to have a "help message" visible when a user hovers the mouse over a column, or a column header, on the html report output. I can't find a way to do this, and maybe its not possible...

What you want is DESC, not HELPMESSAGE.
In you fex insert the following:
SET POPUPDESC=ON
The whatever you have in your MFD in the DESC attribute will show as a tooltip.

HELPMESSAGE was used in MODIFY as a HELP for a field when displaying a form. One would have the cursor on a field, pressing PF1 would show the message.
