i have two tables and i need to create a single master file with these two tables without joining them. Is this possible??? pls suggestThis message has been edited. Last edited by: Kerry,
1. Do you mean that the files are disjointed: have nothing in common? Or, do you want then to be joined within the master file? 2. You say "tables". Are these SQL tables?

these are oracle tables and they do not have common fields.... i need not join those tables... without joining is it possible to create a single master field....
If you have to keep the original Oracle tables, I don't know of a method. However, if you don't mind loading the data into a FOCUS file, then, it is possible. However, these will be unrelated segments, so don't try to sort data of one table by a field in the other...

There is only one way to have two tables defined in one master file, and that is if the two tables are linked by some common field. If they do not have at least one field in common, you can't put both tables in one master file. In short: you have to be able to join them in order to create one mfd for them.
