What's the best way to convert a date as yyy/dd/mm 00:00:00 to the quarter the date is in? Thanks for any assistance possible.

How about using the HPART function to extract the quarter?

ie DT_QTR/I2 = HPART(MY_DATE,'QUARTER','I2');
