(SOLVED) I am using WebFOCUS 7.66 with AIX server.
I am working on porting a suite of Actuate reports to WebFOCUS. All of the business logic for these reports lives in the Oracle space as Stored Procs/functions/packages. The goal is to reuse as much of the existing Oracle code as possible.
I have an Oracle Stored Procedure (SP1) which I have been able to execute via WebFOCUS. The data being returned from SP1 is actually just the metadata that I need to generate a set of reports.
I need to be able to take a couple columns from each row of the result set from SP1 (there will be 200-300 rows) and pass the data as in-parameters to a second Oracle Store Proc/FNC (SP2).
The result of SP2 should be a separate report generated for each person represented in the result set from SP1.
Initially, I was trying to READ values into &&Variables and then pass the &&Variables into the next piece of Oracle code, however I am not sure if this approach is very good since I have (alot) more than one row that needs to be READ into &&Variables
I am open to alternative approaches. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Chris_L,
You must have some logic to identify the rows of data that you require from your SP1 result set, therefore just apply this in a TABLE request and then read the results into variables rather than read the whole result set using -READ.
