Recently installed Excel 2016 to test it with our WF reports and ran into a little issue. A report saved as EXL2K will not open in Excel 2016. I'm guessing because the file isn't really an xls file but an html. Excel 2013 would tell you the file types don't match, but it would open the file. Excel 2016 just displays a blank window. Saving as XLSX from WF works.
Is there a workaround for Excel 2016 to get it to open WF EXL2K files? Thanks! This message has been edited. Last edited by: <Emily McAllister>,
This is a Excel security issue since Excel 2007. WebFOCUS doesn't generate a true .xls file. Excel 2007 and forward recognize this and won't open the file. The fix is a registry change.
