I want to populate an Excel spreadsheet with data and then call an Excel Macro. Can this be done in Webfocus? If so, how? This message has been edited. Last edited by: FP Mod Chuck,
I think the way to accomplish that is to first create an Excel Template that will hold the macro then use WF to feed the data in that Excel Template file.
TABLE FILE abc
SUM xyz
BY uvw
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT XLSX TEMPLATE myTemplate.xlsx
END
WF versions : Prod 8.2.04M gen 33, Dev 8.2.04M gen 33, OS : Windows, DB : MSSQL, Outputs : HTML, Excel, PDF In Focus since 2007

TABLE FILE abc
SUM xyz
BY uvw
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT XLSX TEMPLATE myTemplate.xltm SHEETNUMBER X
END
XLSX files cannot contain a macro. XLTM is a macro enabled template. If delivered via email from RC the attachment will be a .xlsm (macro enabled workbook) so make sure to override the output format.
Create myTemplate.xltm in Excel and put it in the app path. We store almost all of our template files in baseapp. We use an auto open macro that runs when the workbook is opened. We do all kinds of Excel things that WebFOCUS doesn't do or can't do easily. This message has been edited. Last edited by: jgelona,
