This isn't a problem we can solve. If the webserver is not accessible (network inside firewall, server not up, wrong hostname/ip address) there's nothing in DevStudio that can change that. If you are trying to use the "localhost" environment it will require a local webserver - one is installed with DS if you do not already ahve one installed. If you are wanting to develop on a remote server, you need to add a new WebFOCUS environment and set up the client with the appropriate server information.

It could well be a network propagation delay. See if you can get remote log on access to a machine very close to the remote server, and try running dev studio from there.

A long time ago, --so long ago I am not sure of the WebFocus version -- I dealt with time outs between a WebFocus Client and Data server.

The security people had changed in fire wall settings. The network engineer had seen a lot of traffic on the network, so they slowed a couple of ports. They decided a network is not to distribute reports but, for some other propose.

They result was the WebFocus client timed out waiting for a response and gave an error message about the WebFocus server could not be found.
