I have to build a report which is very complex as it involves many hold files and joins etc.I tried to create it and i noticed that the reporting is very slow as there are lots of hold files involved. Also i have to create few similar reports which has similar logic and calculations involved. So when i was thinking of creating a "view" as in SQL server and load it into Reporting server as a synonym. Then i can query that synonym and it will much faster and there won't be errors in logic.I tried searching for such a solution, but all i could find was business views. Is there anyway i can achieve this? This message has been edited. Sorry,it was not clear. My question is can i create view like object in web focus. Anything like business views? The answer is hold files with XFOCUS format for my requirement.

You have a couple of choices, you can create a cluster join where you pre-join tables together and to limit the fields that are displayed you can use the Business View option while editing the synonym to create your own folders for dimensions and measures.
The other option is to create a reporting object which also allows you to pre-join tables and even a base report and or chart.
Thank you for using Focal Point!
