[SHARING] What's the best 'clean' environment to work with WebFocus
Currently we run WebFocus 7.6.5 with a datawarehouse in Oracle 9i , there are also connections to live tables on mainframe.
We're looking to go for a 'clean' new server install with a more recent version and are trying to find out if there's a recommended setup but are finding this quite difficult as there are no recommendations from Information Builders.
The question for you good people is do you have a prefered setup or is there an 'ideal' setup.

The easiest of course is to follow the standard installa options from IB. I find these standards quite well organized. The only thing I sometimes change is the install drive, depending on the size of the drive. Don't know if this is what you're looking for ...

Hi
Here is an example our customers use for standard installations (not for clustered/load balancing/fail over installations):
- windows 2008/R2 x64 - 8 GB RAM or more - Number of CPU/cores: depends on your license - latest 76 versions and 77 versions are certified for windows 2008 64bit , using the native 64bit installations - Apache Tomcat (provided with WF installation) + IIS (for IWA SSO) - for Oracle install the respective Oracle client SQLNet for x64 platform - to access the mainframe use native drivers for x64 bit platform (irrelevant if you use a webfocus sub-server )
-JDK 1.6.X 64bit which is supplied by the WF client installation
- installations on D drive , usually allocating about 60GB free (again depends on your applications )
