I am prompting for a Period and extract a few columns based on it but I want the &PERIOD in my hold file. How do I code that?

Define a new field and set it to be equal to &PERIOD. Then you can use it in your report and hold it.

MY_NEW_FIELD/YYMD=&YYMD;
END
TABLE FILE CAR
SUM SALES
BY COUNTRY
BY CAR
BY MY_NEW_FIELD
ON TABLE HOLD
