We are looking to put W2's on the web and want to use WebFOCUS to do it. Does anyone know if we can download a pdf (in this case the W2 form) into developer studio and then populate it. Or, do we need to build the form ourselves within delveoper studio? This message has been edited. Last edited by: Kerry,

Because WF creates the PDF "on the fly" at the same time it retrieves the data, it can't use an existing PDF as a form to create a new document. You can build the form yourself using LINE, BOX, position markers, font sizes and styles, etc. We have created some pretty complex forms that look just like the originals.
As a PS, I think there are several restrictions regarding automated access to W-2's - especially via the web. Make sure you go through the IRS guidelines thoroughly. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Darin Lee,

This may be possible in 7.6.9. Check the Summary of New Features for this release. I remember reading something about watermarks and forms. I can't remember if it was in the Pixel Perfect Positioning part of Report Painter or in the Document Composer.
You can have watermarks and predefined forms, but they would still need to be in an image format that could be included on the document. I don't believe you can use a PDF doc as the starting point. You would need to scan a prinout of it and use the scanned image. Could be wrong, though - I haven't gone all the way through the new docs.
