I have a button on a web page, that when pressed, executes this JavaScript function in WF 5.2.8.:

//
// Function: menu
// User request, to go back to the main reporting HPA menu.
//
 function menu() {
   menupage = "/IntraReport/WAF/ibiweb.exe?IBIF_ex=HPARMENU";
   nextpage = menupage;
   window.location = nextpage;
 }

After the function executes, I see the new page in the browser.

For our WF 7.6.4 testing, we have amended the URL, to use servlet:

//
// Function: menu
// User request, to go back to the main reporting HPA menu.
//
 function menu() {
   menupage = "/IntraReport/ibi_apps/WFServlet?IBIF_ex=HPARMENU";
   nextpage = menupage;
   window.location = nextpage;
 }

In 7.6.4, instead of the code within focexec HPARMENU running, when the function executes, I see a 'The Page Cannot Be Found' error page.

In this code I am attempting to redirect from the current page to another page.

Is there something else I need to do the servlet related change?

If IntraReport is the server that the WebFOCUS server is on, the JavaScript should read:

menupage = "/ibi_apps/WFServlet?IBIF_ex=HPARMENU";

This is if the web page being displayed is on the same server.

(I hope I'm getting the server stuff correct)

quote:
menupage = "/IntraReport/ibi_apps/WFServlet?IBIF_ex=HPARMENU";

i would take /IntraReport out
="/ibi_apps/WFServlet
should be enough to get to the root of your install

...oh wait..frankiemartini just said that!

David,

Firstly, why don't you just code -
window.location = "/IntraReport/ibi_apps/WFServlet?IBIF_ex=HPARMENU";

Secondly, cut the URL and prefix it with "http://" and your server and see if it works. If it does then you will need to look at what your webserver set up is, if it doesn't and you are sure the URL is pukka, then I would guess that "tomcat" hasn't been configured correctly so go back to the "tomcat" part of the install manual and recheck the list given for your type of install.

If you haven't installed tomcat but another application server then you need to ensure that /ibi_apps and /rcaster (if you have installed it) exist and point to the correct paths.

Also make sure that IIS (if that is what you're using) has the ISAPI filter available and that the priority is set to high.

Good luck

T

Thank you FOCUS Forum crew!

Indeed, removing the folder name, from the servlet call, is what I needed to do. The following is working A-OK:

//
// Function: menu
// User request, to go back to the main reporting HPA menu.
//
 function menu() {
// Proposed 7.6.4 fix.
// menupage = "/IntraReport/ibi_apps/WFServlet?IBIF_ex=HPARMENU";
// 08/28/08 corrected URL test.
   menupage = "/ibi_apps/WFServlet?IBIF_ex=HPARMENU";
   nextpage = menupage;
   window.location = nextpage;
 }
