I'm passing few parameters from graph file to Excel report that are displayed in the header. They all work fine but one of them (PRVR) if PM has a value of 1,000,000 or greater it passes ********* to another report, if it's less it works ok.
PRVR is not a defined field, just using here. Also, PM, whose value is going in PRVR is a computed field in the middle of the code. That makes it difficult to DEFINE a field on top of the code that would contain PM's vlaue. If you can specify with an example that would help. Thanks.
I had PM as D12.6 and PMVAR would not show actual value beyond 1,000,000 I changed PM to D12.3 and it now passes all the values that I've seen so far. Wondering PMVAR has some default size set by WebFocus?
To understand why that worked you really need to understand what the formats actually represent. Unlike some other languages a D12.6 doesn't mean 12 integer positions and 6 decimal places, it actually means 12 characters of which the last 6 are decimals and the 7th to last is the decimal point. So your maximum display in a D12.6 would be 99999.999999.
Read the manual section on formats to get a better understanding of what you are doing and then you might be prepared for the intricasies such as this.
