Hi FOCUSed developers, I've done the searches, read the docs and tested many possibilities with no success. I used Excel templates extensively about 10 years ago but things have changed.
I'm looking for an example of a excel template which is pre-designed (I can create one on the fly with BYTOC and then load the sheets but I need a pre-designed output). I need Sheet 1 with multiple reports and Sheet 2 through Sheet n that Sheet 1 links to. In other words, there are links (references) in the cells of Sheet 1 that link to cells in either Sheet 2 or Sheet n.
Output is EXL07 using WF 8.009
I'm getting the following error from a template I created in Excel07 using several extensions in my tests: xlsx, xltm, xlsm, and mht. (FOC3289) TEMPLATE FILE: Error opening file (FOC3317) Error processing template file.
PS.I checked WF Admin console to verify that these extensions do exist.
Thanks for any guidance or guesses. This message has been edited. Last edited by: <Kathryn Henning>,

At which point do you get the error, at the first template, the second ....?
I posted the following code last August, it might trigger some thoughts?

ON TABLE HOLD AS CAR2 FORMAT EXL07 TEMPLATE 'car1.xlsm' SHEETNUMBER 2

I saw your code, Tony, and ran it. It runs fine with a simple CAR file report.
My report has 4 sections on sheet 1 that is populated from sheet 2 through sheet 5 with links in the cells. As soon as I try to populate this I get the template error. I appreciate you code and it did verify that the basics work.
Thanks and keep the ideas coming.
PS: I've opened a case on this and will report back when this is solved.

Kevin W, From the documentation, they should be the same: "FORMAT EXL07 and FORMAT XLSX are synonyms and can be used interchangeably. The FILE SAVED message will always display "XLSX FILE SAVED", regardless of the syntax specified."
Thanks.

It was explained to me that EXL07 didn't do the full XML that comes with XLSX. But perhaps that is comparing our 7.7.05 system to our 8.1.03. Maybe they made them synonomous in 8.1.0.3. Still I see a lot of caveats in the 8.1.0.3 doc that XLSX still doesn't have quite all the features that were in EXL07. So I wonder. Here is the most recent XLSX document that I have: http://documentation.informati...f_wf_8009/TM4690.pdf
