We have a launch page that is created using html code within a fex. When the user selects PDF output, it opens in the same page and hitting the BACK button fails to return to the html launch page. So they have to kill the report and go through the whole startup routine again. Actually, if you click the back button several time rapidly you may return to the launch page but that's a little silly to tell the customers.
I don't know how to make PDF open in a new window. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Kerry,

Actually, in IE, you only need to click the small arrow within the "back button" and then select the second item in the list, this is the same as going back in the browser history 2 items.
You have to do this beacuse of the redirection and if you only click the back button, then the browser history points to the redirection which redisplays the PDF form. Going back 2 steps in the browser history should give you the launch page.
That's the explanation of why, the "what to do" has been covered above by Neftali, although I would urge you to read a little on the HTML "Target" attribute of the anchor tag ( to understand how you can specify different targets.
