Does anyone know how to show exponential trend line and the associated value on a bar chart?

It is easy to show the trend line, but I also want to show the value that the trend line represents.

Thank you!

Thank you, Chuck!
I don't have code modification right. Will forward your script to the right person.
I am sure it will take care of the issue.

On the other hand, is there a way to get by without touching the coding?

Hi

I did this all within the GUI from the Series tab there is a drop down called data labels which I selected "above" in my example.

This is true when you want to display data label on a regular measure (Y-axis).
What SMW is requesting is to have the data value on a TRENT line which is not possible using the GUI (and even using code as far as I know).

Thank you all for your help!

I thought I would work around it by showing exponential trend line, then a separate bar to show CAGR value for 3 years.

But when I did that, CAGR shows up as stack bar on top of my sales bar. I could not make it show up as separate bar for end of 2017 only, instead of CAGR for each year.

does it make sense?

Let pretend that MTH is different years and that CAGR has the CAGR calculation/result (not a default value as I did).
Why not use a report similar to that ?
It display sales value per "Year" and the CAGR at each year. That way you see the CAGR trend.

Hi Martin,
I totally agree with your approach.

In my graph, CAGR is a calculated field. But I only need CAGR show up once, which is end of 2017.

Another issue I have is that when my graph has Sales and Margin that each ties to Y1 and Y2, I could not get CAGR show up properly to save my life!

SMW,

You still have other graph option to show multiple info on a graph such as below.

Do not pay attention to my COMPUTEs, I've just tried to show something that make variation on graph.

But if this is really what you need, then you can create a ReferenceLine at CAGR 2017 value. Maybe that can make the "job"
