Hi, has anyone been successful in creating a compound excel report where you have two reports on the first tab, then only one report on the second tab. Or I can go vice versa, i.e., first tab one report, second tab having two reports. I have been playing around with this 'ALL' different ways and have not been successful as well as in my search for this type of thing to begin with. I am currently in 7.7.03. Thank you in advance. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Kathy P,

Yes, that too. I have tried all the manual coding combinations: I have not been able to do both. I can do nobreak and get both reports on the same tab but then I cannot get the second tab to work. WF doesn't like that. I tried the first tab of one report, then issued the nobreak on the second fex and WF did not like that either. Seems to be one way or the other but not combined....

I have coded around by adding a sort field to get my two reports on one tab and then my detail data dump on the second tab. Sighhh. But it would be nice if it could be done. Thank you!

SET COMPOUND = OPEN NOBREAK
TABLE FILE CAR
HEADING
" Report 1"
PRINT COUNTRY
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT EXL2K
END
TABLE FILE CAR
HEADING
" "
" Report 2"
PRINT CAR
END
SET COMPOUND = CLOSE
TABLE FILE CAR
HEADING
" "
" Report 3"
PRINT MODEL
END
Thanks Waz! That worked. I always kept the compound close at the end. I didn't try moving it up as I thought I would lose the compound report.I was doing it on the same line as on table pchold, the open, nobreak and close. Interesting. Thanks again and have a great weekend!

Interesting. This works with the car file but not with my fex. I have a lot going on in my fex, but the compound syntax is very straight forward. I commented out my tab title to see if that made a difference which it did not. I am also running Zero-Footprint WF Dev Studio. I don't have time today to play with it. I will come back to this next week. I only get the first tab and not the second tab. So close.....

I don't know if you have tried this but besides doing the set you can have it within the PCHOLD lines as well. Although, the tool does not like the NOBREAK keyword if you open it in the GUI.
TABLE FILE CAR
BY COUNTRY
FOOTING
""
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT EXL2K OPEN NOBREAK
END
TABLE FILE CAR
BY COUNTRY
BY MODEL
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT EXL2K
END
TABLE FILE CAR
BY CAR
BY MODEL
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT EXL2K CLOSE
END
Crymsyn, I need the third report on a separate tab. This is the code I am using along with set compound on and set compound off. Seems to be the only way I get sort of what I want. I added a dummy sort field and did a page break to get my second report on the first tab.
